SEMA Flood Recovery Update Brief – Monday, July 3


  • FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers, which include representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration, will be closed for the July 4th holiday. On Wednesday, July 5, the five remaining recovery centers reopen at 9 a.m. The recovery centers are in in Alton, Gainesville, Galena, Van Buren and West Plains. You’ll find details at Recovery.mo.gov
  • Apply for FEMA assistance 24/7 at DisasterAssistance.gov or call 800-621-3362. FEMA encourages registration in advance to expedite assistance at Disaster Recovery Centers.
  • Free repair and rebuilding advice will be offered by FEMA in seven counties included in the federal disaster declaration beginning again on July 5. The counties are Gasconade, Jasper, Jefferson, Ozark, Pemiscot, Ripley and St. Louis. Locations and details at Recovery.mo.gov.   
  • July 5 is the deadline for unemployed workers in the 27 counties included in the federal Individual Assistance disaster declaration to file for up to 26 weeks of Disaster Unemployment Assistance. DUA claims may be filed at uinteract.labor.mo.gov or by calling a Regional Claims Center Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
