SBA approval of Governor Kehoe’s June 21 request makes low-interest disaster loans available for homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofits in 12 southwest Missouri counties
Today, U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOC) are opening in Greene, Lawrence and Newton counties, following SBA’s approval of Governor Mike Kehoe’s request that it make available low interest federal disaster loans to homeowners, renters and businesses and private nonprofits impacted by severe storms and flooding that occurred on April 29.
The June 23 SBA disaster declaration also makes the loans available in the contiguous Missouri counties of Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Jasper, McDonald, Polk, Stone and Webster.
Interest rates are as low as 4% for businesses, 3.62% for nonprofits, and 2.81% for homeowners and renters, with terms up to 30 years. Interest does not begin to accrue, and payments are not due until 12 months from the date of the first loan disbursement. SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.
SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries and private nonprofit (PNP) organizations impacted by financial losses directly related to this disaster.
To apply online, visit sba.gov/disaster. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, please dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.
The deadline to return physical damage applications is Aug. 22, 2025. The deadline to return economic injury applications is March 23, 2026.
Beginning Wednesday, June 25, SBA customer service representatives are on hand at the following DLOCs to answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help each individual complete their application. Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment in advance at appointment.sba.gov.
