Disaster Loan Outreach Center to Open July 21 in Greene County
Today, the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has made available low-interest federal disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses, and private nonprofits in seven Missouri counties impacted by the tornadoes, straight-line winds, severe storms, large hail, and flooding that swept through the state April 23-28.
The July 15 SBA disaster declaration makes the loans available in Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, and Webster counties. Interest rates are as low as 4% for businesses, 3.62% for nonprofits, and 2.87% for homeowners and renters, with terms up to 30 years. Interest does not begin to accrue, and payments do not begin until 12 months from the date of the first loan disbursement. SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.
A Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) will open next Tuesday, July 21, in Greene County to provide in-person support for impacted individuals who may be considering an SBA disaster loan and require application assistance or further guidance on potential funds available. It will be operational Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment in advance at appointment.sba.gov.
