SBA approval of Governor Kehoe’s July 25 request makes low-interest disaster loans available for homeowners, renters, businesses, and private nonprofits in seven southwest Missouri counties
JEFFERSON CITY – Today, the U.S. Small Business Administration approved Governor Mike Kehoe’s request to make available low interest federal disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses, and private nonprofits impacted by severe storms and flash flooding that occurred on June 29.
The July 30 SBA disaster declaration makes the loans available in Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Lawrence, Polk, and Webster counties. Interest rates are as low as 4% for businesses, 3.62% for nonprofits, and 2.81% for homeowners and renters, with terms up to 30 years. Interest does not begin to accrue, and payments are not due until 12 months from the date of the first loan disbursement. SBA sets loan amounts and terms based on each applicant’s financial condition.
A Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) will remain open in Greene County to provide in-person support for impacted individuals who may be considering an SBA disaster loan to receive application assistance and further guidance on potential funds available.
The Greene County DLOC is operational Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment in advance at appointment.sba.gov.

July 27 Flash Flooding Update:

Initial damage assessments have already identified over 40 uninsured homes and businesses were majorly damaged or destroyed.
The Greene County DLOC was first opened following SBA’s approval of Governor Kehoe’s Request for SBA Assistance after the severe storms and flooding that occurred on April 29: sema.dps.mo.gov/news/newsitem/uuid/9540fd90-4d6a-438e-90a6-9c53a1b5fb10
